"My dad's Retiring"

Tomorrow is my dad's last day working at the Post office as a mail carrier. He is retiring after 26 years. I asked him what will he do now and his response was " go fishing."  Before he worked at the Post Office he was a school teacher and before that he was in the Airforce and he did serve in Vietnam. Last year when he talked about the possibility of retiring, I asked did he want a party. He told me not to plan a party because he didn't need one. I was giving him a party regardless of what he said a year ago. When I first started planning it, he said my co-workers have been asking where my party will be. So now he's looking forward to the party which is Saturday. I'm ready for it to be over with, and guess who's doing the Retirement Speech; you guessed it, I am. I haven't even started preparing my speech, because my school work comes first. Hope everyone have a great weekend and say a prayer for me!!

  3. Congratulations to your father. I hope he enjoys his retirement and catches the "big one". My father also recently retired. We live eight houses from each other, so now I have a handy man available 24/7.

  4. I so hope your father enjoys his retirement. My dad plays golf quite a bit and is involved in church work. He keeps busy, but sometimes I think he misses what he used to do.

Good luck and congrats to your dad. I hope the party was great!

  5. Congrates to Dad! I think you should not worry to much about the speech. Just say what your heart feels. I am sure that you will do fine. Do not stress.
I would love to go fishing, he is so lucky.
